We’re excited that you’re on your way to becoming a Northern Eagle! To help you get ready, we’ve outlined the key steps you should complete before classes begin. 

New Student Checklist

1. Find Your Eagle ID
Your Eagle ID is your key to Northern. It is your unique identifier, which faculty and staff will ask for and use.

  • You can call Admissions (505.747.2111) to ask for your ID.
  • It is also located on your formal Admissions Letter.


2. Log in to the myNNMC Portal
MyNNMC is your hub for everything Northern — Eagle Email, Banner, Canvas, and more.Go to the MyNNMC Portal. You will use your NNMC Email to log into the Hub.
Your Eagle email address will be:

  • firstname_middleinitial_lastname@nnmc.edu
  • First-time password: Northern26!
  • Need help logging in? Call IT at 505-747-5000


3. Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA helps protect your accounts and personal information. Take a few minutes to set it up before you arrive on campus:

4. Register for Classes

Connect with an academic advisor to choose and register for your first semester courses:


5. Complete Your FAFSA (if you haven’t already)

Filing the FAFSA helps us build your financial aid package and explore all options to help you pay for college.


6. Save the Date for New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is your introduction to life at Northern.


7. Review Important Dates & Deadlines

Stay on top of add/drop dates, billing deadlines, and other key academic dates by reviewing the Academic Calendar:
